Thai Fine Art Ltd pays regular visits to Northern Thailand's Elephant Conservation Centres at Maesa and Lampang to stock up on samples of paintings by Thai Elephants. For the past six or seven years, the resident elephants at these conservation centres have been encouraged to take up paintbrushes in their trunks and produce tempera creations on paper before their admiring audiences at the twice-daily shows staged to raise funds towards the animals' upkeep costs. Guided by their mahoot, their devoted, permanent keeper-trainers, the animals clearly enjoy producing their colourful compositions of dots, lines, abstracts, flowers, trees, landscapes and portraits, which are later sold at the centre shops.
Buying an elephant painting means you own a totally original, unique work of art produced by a joyful, intelligent creature and make a contribution towards keeping these happy, healthful elephant spaces. Flown from Thailand's misty, mountain forests to you, a Thai Elephant painting is not a painting of nature but nature painting itself - a truly worthwhile investment and enduring conversation-piece.
In 2007 Thai Fine Art Ltd proudly arranged an important Corporate Commission for the MaeSa Elephant Camp's star artist, Paya, whose artwork is viewable for sale at Elephant Art
Working with admirable concentration and enthusiasm, Paya painted the corporate logo as representatives of the Camp and Thai Fine Art filmed and photographed this event. Thai Fine Art values the relationship of trust we have established with the MaeSa Conservation Centre. We would welcome further Corporate or Private Commissions (CC or PC) for the elephant artists. The elephants in care at the centre will benefit from the additional funds.
